Todd a Professor?
Important announcement for serious Todd fans! Todd's solo concert/lecture/recital at Indiana University will be streamed live with audio and video action! The recital takes place at 8pm ET this Sunday aka Halloween night. We were told this would likely NOT be archived so you might want to watch it live if you can. The good news is a copy of it will be kept in their library and one would assume we will eventually get our hands on it. Here are the details.
Todd will be donning the professor's cap and lecture at Indiana University on October 28, 2010. He is also expected to present a "storytelling" concert on October 31.
Todd's lecture is entitled "LONGHAIR: TR on the Beatles Effect." The intimate concert's title is "CLUSTER: The Birth of the T Chord." Todd says this about it: "I'm going to focus on the development of my harmonic sensibility, with performed examples."

My wife is a romance novel fanatic and I am a Todd Rundgren fanatic. Our obsessions crossed paths when she recently read a book called "Hello It's Me" by Wendy Markham. Todd and his song are mentioned on the third page, setting up the title and plot for the story.
Watching an ER rerun on TNT -- Anthony Edwards is driving with his daughter. "Hello, It's Me" is on the radio. His daughter, making a face, asks what he is listening to and he says, "Todd Rundgren, I like this!!"

I just saw an ad on IFC for a new movie called "Camp", which features a cover of "The Want Of A Nail" on the soundtrack, and also uses that track in the ad.From the site:
And in the rousing, soulful finale of the film, "The Want Of A Nail" - the kids explode with a hard won sense of self-esteem, while remaining unsentimentally realistic enough to recognize how precarious those victories are:"For the want of a nail, the shoe was lost For the want of a shoe, the horse was lost For the want of a horse, the rider was lost For the want of a rider, the message was lost..."
Unfortunately, the site completely fails to mention that the song is written by Todd Rundgren.
A listener writes:
Did you happen to hear Howard Stern this morning???Lots of Todd stuff, very funny though some was not nice but still the whole crew knew alot about OH.
"WAREHOUSE BLOWOUT" advertises "Bat Out of Hell" (produced by "Todd Rungren") for $.99 and Splender's "Halfway Down the Sky" for $3.99 (they got Rundgren right on that one).
Others may already have sent this, but at the end of last nights riveting episode of "Six Feet Under" on HBO, the star of the show is sitting in his wifes abandoned car at the beach (we are led to believe she has offed herself)....and he is listening to the cassette left in her car stereo....playing "I saw the light"....they lyrics of which were particularly appropriate for the story line in that episode. - Eric Lund
