Todd Rundgren Releases Complete Music Videos Online via CompuServe and NAMSnet Rundgren First Performing Artist to Offer Entire In-Concert Music Videos Online and via Internet BINGHAMTON, New York, TROY, Mich., March, 12, 1996 -- Today interactive artist Todd Rundgren is releasing two complete music videos to the vast Internet and CompuServe on-line communities in their entirety. The videos of the songs, "Change Myself", and "Fascist Christ" which is from his seminal 1993 interactive record album 'No World Order', are being made available by Rundgren to on-line users at no charge, in their entire broadcast television running lengths. Rundgren is utilizing CompuServe, along with the National Association of Music Shareware World Wide Web site (NAMSnet) and NAMS interactive video delivery technologies, to distribute the music videos as promotional shareware to on-line users worldwide. The user redistributable videos are encoded in the NAMS interactive delivery formats, which protects artist and purchasing data, combined with Xing MPEG video which reduces user file download times by almost 80% compared to other digital video files currently found on-line. NAMS music videos are viewed on Windows based multimedia PCs using NAMS playback software (a Macintosh version is forthcoming) which is available on-line at no charge on both CompuServe and NAMSnet. Todd Rundgren's first interactive enhanced music CD, 'The Individualist', also contains full-length visual experiences (seven of which are navigable) for each of the album's ten tracks, plus a section of interactive lyrics, and a 'direct-your-own-music-video' feature. The audio portion of the enhanced disc can also be played on a traditional audio CD player for those without a CD-ROM drive. Rundgren currently hosts CompuServe's 'Music In(TR)action Forum' (GO IMUSIC) and acts as CompuServe's worldwide interactive music consultant. The videos and NAMS player software can be downloaded in the forum's MOVIES library section. The NAMSnet World Wide Web site can be reached on the Internet at http://www.mw3.com/nams/ and is hosted by Music Interactive (TM), dubbed "the first virtual music community." This central site for music industry-oriented content was created by Boston-based Baudway Communications, the nation's leading developer of Web sites for companies in the music industry, and majority-owned by Milwaukee-based Hal Leonard Publishing Corporation, the world's largest print music publisher. Notes to Editor: NAMS is a pending subsidiary of Detroit based Quatrophonic Music Corporation. Initial backing and impetus behind the merger is being provided by J.E.A. Enterprises, L.L.C., a private investment firm specializing in venture capital financing, mergers and divestitures of small- to medium-capital companies. The firm is headed by Joseph Antonini, former chairman, president and chief executive officer of Kmart Corporation, who is also an advisor to both firms. Quatrophonic and NAMS are currently reviewing additional funding alternatives, including a proposed initial public offering, to facilitate 1996 marketing, distribution and sales of existing and developing entertainment and on-line Internet marketing products worldwide.
