What a show!! Todd Rundgren brought an incredible night of music to the Royal Oak Music Theatre, and I'm still smiling thinking about it.
The show consisted of three sets, with two of them having what Todd affectionately called the "pee breaks" — much needed for some of us elderly fans! 😂 But honestly, those breaks were worth it because we got an amazing 27 songspacked into the night.
I was especially thrilled that he played my favorite song, "Buffalo Grass." ❤️ That alone made my night!
The middle set took things in a slower, soulful Motown-inspired direction, and it was such a fun change of pace. I'm not going to post the set list because I don't want to spoil the surprises for anyone who has an upcoming show. Trust me, you'll want to experience it for yourself.
So, if you're sitting on the fence about going to this tour — DON'T! Get your tickets and go. This one is really, really good. You won't regret it.
And the band! 🔥
Bobby "Crazy Legs" even played the congas on an organ — yes, you read that right! 😂 You just have to see it.
Bruce is such a great addition to the band. Does anyone else see a young Stewkey in him?! And that hair! And those KICKS he was wearing! I need a pair!! 😂 He brought a great energy to the stage and really stood out.
Prairie seemed to take things up a notch too. There was such a great energy coming from the whole band.
And Todd's voice — WOW. So strong, powerful and sounding absolutely fantastic. At 78, he still knows how to command that stage and deliver the goods.
Kasim must have a time machine that he takes on tour with him because that dude NEVER ages! 😆 He was fantastic as always.
And Gil was his usual great self — another incredible part of what makes this band so much fun to watch.
All in all, an absolutely wonderful show. Three sets, 27 songs, a fantastic band, a great mix of sounds, and Todd sounding better than ever.

I think the last time Todd played at Royal Oak music theater was when he was there with utopia and they wore those army fatigues
