I LOVED the Global Show at the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall in Ponte Vedra, Florida! Having a front row seat was great -- but then again-- maybe not the greatest because I was squiggly in my chair a LOT and felt restricted from dancing because I knew I would be blocking the handicapped gentleman to my right.
Before the show, I spoke to a mom and her 20-year-old son seated next to me. Nancy is a long-time Todd fan who brought Alex for his first Todd experience. From all of the hooting and hollering coming from that young man, I gathered he really dug it! Nancy, I hope to see you in Orlando in August! If not, I hope you'll treat yourself to Akron; the orchestra shows are wonderful! smile emoticon
Back to the Global show--DaM FunK's opening song, "I Wanna Thank You (For Steppin' Into My Life) incorporating many of the titles of Todd's albums, is clever and oh my, does he have a smoooooth voice or what??? I'm going to pay more attention to him at the Culture Room show in Ft. Lauderdale tomorrow, but I can tell you this now -- I REALLY loved what he did during One World--niiiiice!
The gals were great and seemed to be having a good time, but I have to admit -- I was riveted on Todd. Watching him actually sing the words to songs I have grown so fond of from 1978 to his latest release, is such a moving experience for me--Happy Kathryn!
As I mentioned before, being a seated venue, I was limited to chair dancing--until Todd entreated the audience to get up & dance to Party Liquor--and we did! I'm actually looking forward to seeing the show from the back of the club tomorrow. I'll not only be able to get a better perspective of the amazing lights & beautiful, mesmerizing visuals--I'll be able to dance until my heart's content!
On the way back to my hotel, I stopped at Walgreens and bought a bag of eucalyptus-scented Epsom salts and had a nice leisurely soak in a hot tub--in preparation for the 5 hour drive south tomorrow for the Ft. Lauderdale show at Culture Room.
Todd--in Just One Victory, you sing, "I just want to see if you'll give up on me..." The answer is "Never!!!" There is always more--
THANK YOU FOR THE MUSIC!!!
