I didn't know that to enjoy a concert, after paying $100 for two tickets, I was also required to research set lists on the Internet before attending.
If that's the case, we have evolved into a very sad state of affairs when it comes to concert going.
I've been attending rock concerts since 1967, and the only preparation needed before a show was to score some good.
Many of us would expect, and apparently did expect from the results at the Hard Rock Café concert this past week, that a Todd Rundgren concert would include popular Todd songs as well and the more esoteric . The concert was promoted as Todd Rundgren with Utopia, not UTOPA. So excuse those of us
who LOVE Todd's early masterpieces of being "idiots". The only idiotic thing about your comments are the fact that we should "know what to expect" with Todd, when you say you never know what to expect with Todd.
I doubt you were even there, so how can you respond to comments about a bad mix and a band that was not tight that evening.
So dude, chill out and allow other's to have their opinions without resorting to name calling.
I love my wife and value her opinion. I took her to the concert expecting to hear a cross section of Todd's amazing works, not just a collection of free form prog rock music which isn't want made his $$ in the early years or his commercial success. Apparently many in the audience in Fort Lauderdale agrees, as they walked out before the music
was over. I at least showed the respect to stay until the last encore, in the hope Todd would throw us a couple of classic nuggets that made him famous.
Guess I'm guilty for not doing my online research so I would know what tunes his encores would include as well. OOPS, my bad.
