A couple of the reviews from the first 2 shows mentioned that they didn't like the material chosen for the show. I must say that the reviewers did not do there home work before going to the show. The set list is as advertised. If you are a Rundgren fan and paid any attention to the fan sites you would know what to expect. The fact that Todd is a chameleon, as all of his fans know, should eliminate any disappointment in song choice. When you have a 40 album catalog to choose from and the variety of music that Todd has recorded you should not go in expecting to hear greatest hits unless that is what is advertised.
I find the material from these 2 albums to be among the best ever in progressive rock, rivaling anything the more popular bands of the era Yes, ELP, King Crimson, Genesis etc ever released. These albums are true mixes of rock, classical and jazz.
If you are expecting greatest hits, you missed the shows. I saw the greatest hits show in San Juan Capistrano and it was wonderful, but the Utopia shows are the ones I really want to see. I saw TR's Utopia in 1974 front row center seat in Evansville, Indiana. It was so good I drove 5 days later to Chicago to see the Halloween show. Both shows were note for note perfect and without a doubt the best concerts I have ever seen and that includes most of the big names in rock over the last 40 years. I can't wait to see even a close approximation to the '74 shows.
