I look forward to seeing the Utopia (Mark II reunion) and fully expect to see and hear something reminiscent of that lineup (74-75) - i.e. "Todd Rundgren's Utopia" & "Another Live". Having read the set list that is exactly what they delivered. So my expectations will be met when I see them here in Durham. Whether they play other items from Todd's catalog or the extended Utopia catalog (75 on) is secondary to me - if they do fine, if not fine.
Now how well they play it and whether it appeals to one is always an individual choice. Since Todd is a chameleon (one of the aspects that most appeals to me - never stand still, always pushing the artistic bounds in various directions) I can see where one may come in expecting to hear something that is not presented during that performance.
In fact my wife loves Todd - but she does not know his whole catalog - so knowing what she likes and does not like - I have told her to stay home for this show as it will not be the "ballady" Todd she knows. If she did go without me telling her what the show was going to entail - she would also walk away disappointed as the early Utopia music (call it prog or whatever you want) is not a style she appreciates or for that matter even tolerates :)
To me it will be a flash back to a point in time = focused on that period - exactly what I expect and thrilled to hear both LPs cover to cover.
