No other album, TR or otherwise, was more important to me as a teenaged kid than "Todd". I've been wanting to see it played live for 35+ years. Dream/true. I Think You Know. The Last Ride. #1 Lowest. Heavy Metal Kids. Don't You Ever Learn. There's some heavy stuff in there, people.
I took a guy from my band with me last night who's never seen Todd before. Before the show I said, "wait until you hear how much musical ground he covers in this first album." I got a "yeah, right, whatever, Todd-head" look in return. By the end of "Everybody's Going to Heaven/King Kong Reggae" he was picking his chin up off the ground.
Who besides Todd Rundgren can do this?
And I get to see it all again tonight. Whoa.
