Starting with trying to leave Dallas Friday night, having flight delayed by storms, flight for 7:30 arrives at 11:30 and the crew goes illegal. Next flight time Sat. at 9:30 am. So try to sleep in the airport.
I went as a bonding with my grandson (15 and ¾ years old) who goes to school in Lake Forest. This would be a hand off to third generation after planting Todd in my daughter's brain securely when she was a child. I had no idea that my tickets included a meet and greet with Todd. The grandson and I walked up the side of the venue and standing in a doorway listening to his Ipod was Kasim. We talked to him for a few minutes and he met Ryan and was the usual Kasim(gregarious soul that he is). He informed me that we had meet and greet and should check in at the box office. Sure enough, we did so the grandson got to meet Our Hero.
As Karen mentioned, I had met Nick (Hi Nick) from Texas A & M who flew in just for the show that day and was flying back out after show. Thanks for the red Sharpie Karen and sorry Todd wanted to use it for the rest of the meet and greet.
Todd personalized the AWATS album (real vinyl) Nick had asked me to have signed and that was another thrill. Helping turn a young 20 year old and my grandson (15) on to Todd for the future felt great.
We sat down front and across from Jean my political polar opposite as she wrote previously. Not so much opposite as you might think Jean. I didn't trust Bush either remember. But thanks for being so kind to my grandson. And putting up with me.
The show was FANTASTIC. I was told by Kasim's lady friend afterward that this was the best show yet. I don't see how it could get any better. This is a thrill ride from start to finish and not to be missed. And being around all the Todd fans makes it extra special.
We love each other as we love Todd. And after all, LOVE IS THE ANSWER !!!!
Thanks Todd, band, wardrobe mistress(Hi Michelle) and fans. I'll never forget this night.
