Great American Music Hall SF 7/6/08

Been to quite a number of Todd shows (first was Wizard release at Villanova in 71) and this was not my favorite. Sound was kind of muddy, too much bass. Felt a little pummeled by what I think was the entire new album. I loved the show at the same venue about 9 months ago but this got a little monotonous. Would have preferred some more familiar stuff. Was really hoping he'd play Jesse ("fuck you Jesse Helms...and Tipper Gore") to celebrate the illustrious racist's passing on July 4 (just like Thomas Jefferson and John Adams).

Sorry for the less than positive review but Todd never plays it safe and that's what keeps me coming back.
