It’s always great to se TR, but last nights show at the Fitzgerald was so-so as far as Todd’s standards. I wish he would skip tours like this because I don’t think he treats the songs with the same original passion they deserve. I don’t understand why he goes back to these older songs when he himself says he is bored with earlier material. He doesn’t take them seriously. I’m looking forward to a future tour with a big backup band that brings a much fuller sound to his music. His voice isn’t the same when he has to use it like an instrument. JJ was pretty entertaining and so was Ethel. If you’re looking for a serious side to TR’s music, skip this tour, or if you go have fun with JJ and Ethel.
