Clearwater Show

Clearwater was my first Todd show since we moved to Florida over eight years ago. It was also my son’s first concert (inside). We both enjoyed the concert very much, even though his favorite works are “Nearly Human” and “No World Order,” so he didn’t recognize any of the songs. I have never seen Todd solo, so this was a special treat for me. I enjoyed seeing Todd play songs that I have not seen him play. I especially enjoyed hearing “Monument,” among other Utopia songs. As it was my son’s first indoors concert, he insisted on sitting in the last row (even though I could have purchased seats in the eighth row – oh well. I am so sorry we missed Todd performing “The Wheel” and “Hammer in My Heart” in Jacksonville. I shouted for him to play “The Wheel” in Clearwater, but I was probably not heard from the back row. I am thankful that I have seen him perform this song at a very special concert in Cincinnati, OH, at a concert organized by his fans. He began to play “Compassion,” but changed his mind and treated his fans to a performance of “The Wheel.”

Neither me or my son are familiar with Joe Jackson’s works, but we enjoyed his performance, as well as that by Ethel. All in all, the performances by all the musicians were nicely done, and the trip from Sarasota to Clearwater to see the show was well worth it.
