Had the pleasure of seeing Todd in Glasgow for the first time since Edinburgh in 1982 and I was not disappointed. He played a two hour 20 min set opening with a great version of Truth followed by various songs off Liars, the title track in particular was a real standout with the floor shaking and Todd putting his heart and soul into the performance, not bad for a 56 year old!! His voice was really strong throughout the show and we were treated to a few great guitar solo's too particulary on While My Guitar Gently Weeps. Have heard a few moans from people wanting him to play more old songs but where would he start? He has a huge back catalogue spanning 35 years and he's done that before anyway(the 1982 shows for example) This was a tour to promote the new Liars album and any true Todd fan would have bought the album in April when it came out and not after the concert!.... Speaking of oldies the only weak part of the show was the 20 min lounge version of Born To Synthesize which really dragged, been much better replacing it with Stood Up,The Wondering,Afterlife and Living off the new album.....People should know by now that Todd will always go his own way and he's not going to change now, that's why he's still making good records. All in all,a great show, good sound and lighting as well. Come back soon Todd, don't make us wait so long next time!
