Town Hall

Just a brief rundown of last night's excellent Todd show at Town Hall in NYC -- I didn't get a setlist as I forgot to bring pen and paper (so i'll rely on others to post it), but it was more or less similar to the 4/21 list -- we were treated to "I've Just Seen a Face" (I think this is the "Falling" that someone referred to being played the prior nite), right after "You've Got to Hide Your Love Away" as well as "Love of the Common Man", but we didn't get "Black and White" nor "Cliche" nor "The Wheel" & "What's Going On". Actually, the show seemed to only run about an hour and 40 min or so, which seems short. Todd was in great spirits, joking with the crowd and showing an excellent sense of humor (even the flubs and wrong chords seemed to fit in the spirit of the evening). The hilight for me was the cover of "Lunatic Fringe" - Todd dedicated it to John Ashcroft, and was flirting with recent political/world issues a couple of times (eg. Lysistrata to kick off the show, including Beloved Infidel in the set, etc. plus a brief statement on freedom of opinion). Bottom Line: A very enjoyable show in a unique setting, well worth the money (though my caffeine- addled ass is paying for it today) and almost as satisfying to me as the power trio show I saw a couple of years ago. If you can catch one of the few remaining shows, it's highly recommened if tix are still available.
