Todd rides the Ram's Head ....

Review by Barry Beiseigel (Switch to

Still a little groggy from a late night out with Todd but had to post a review.... What a GREAT SHOW!... He's been getting some pretty bad reviews (some of it justified) but he really pulled it together tonight at the Ram's Head Tavern. This is a Brew House/Intimate Performance hall (seats 250) located just steps away from the Capitol in picturesque Annapolis, Md. Todd stepped up to the mike around 9:20 to a sold out house and proceeded to weave his magic in a two hour (25 song) love fest. Sure he still made some mistakes (keep rehearsing!), but this was the fourth show in his 8 date mini tour so he's getting into a groove now. Here's the setlist...
(Todd solo acoustic guitar...)
Love of the Common Man
There Goes My Inspiration
I Don't Want To Tie You Down
(Todd solo piano...)
Song of the Viking
Compassion (with incredible feeling...)
Too Far Gone
Free, Male & 21
(tape - Hawaiian Song)
(Todd with Jesse & "the box"...)
I Saw the Light
Can We Still Be Friends
Never Never Land
Lucky Guy
It Wouldn't Have Made Any Difference (Jesse smoked on guitar... tape ran
out early, dammit)
Lady Madonna
(Todd electric solo....)
Hammer in my Heart
Tiny Demons
Love in Action (everybody singing in the place)
One World
(Todd solo acoustic guitar ...)
The Wheel (an earlier request granted...)

encore: (with Jesse & "the box") Love is the Answer I Want You A Dream Goes On Forever

We tried to coax him out for a second encore (hoping for Hawking), but Todd and Jesse retreated to the green room for a well deserved dinner break. Deb, Marc and I waited around and met up with him afterwards. I asked him why he really was doing this mini tour and he reiterated that this was his "pay the IRS terrorists" tour. He was gracious as always when we asked for autographs. Met up with some of our other longtime Todd fans (Deb C., Tom, some I didn't even get the names of but see around....). This show was heads and shoulders above the Jaxx show I saw last Saturday night. You folks who have tix for the remaining shows have a treat waiting at your door. Thanks Todd ... come back soon (with a big band, please!!!!)
