AMEN, already. Nothing beats no-frills, in your face, kick-ass and ask
questions later rock'n'roll!!! Man, this show was just what I needed. No
offense, but I really wasn't in the mood to hold hands and chant "THE WHEEL"
after standing in line for two hours only to get an SRO spot near the bar
(which actually wasn't that bad). I had a good feeling about this show
cause I knew TR wouldn't go solo on the guitar without being up for it. He
did not disappoint at all - guitar solo after screaming guitar solo, power
cord after power cord without having to sit through someone else taking the
glory. TR took it all tonight, and really had a great time doing it. I've
been waiting for Todd to do this type show for a long time, and caught
myself many times saying "man that was awesome". TR is really a tremendous
guitar player - forget that damb piano !!! His voice was strong all night
which was great since last time he was up this way (excluding the free
Boston show), the flu was raging. Two free shows in a row now, but I'd
rather pay than have to go through the anxiety of wondering whether or not
you'll get in the door. Plus that annoying slot machine trance noise in the
background was giving me a headache. And not once did I get the urge to
take all my money and throw it on the table, begging for mercy. Go figure.
I really hope Todd would consider coming back to MA or CT in August, or
maybe he can find some somewhere in Providence like the old days.
