Westbury, NY 6/23

I was at this show and didn't have such a clinical perspective as those shared by some of the reviewers. This was about the 50th time I've seen Todd, going back to his birthday show in Central Park in 1974. I've seen most, but not all, of the permutations of Todd and/or Utopia shows in the NYC area since then.

This was one of the most enjoyable Todd shows I've ever been to. The band energy was great, the tunes were great(I loved the new stuff), and I thought it was a treat to hear things like Fix Your Gaze and Open My Eyes, which have not been staples of many shows I've gone to. The chance to see and hear Kasim and Todd together again was a thrill (their vocals are superb together). The bottom line is that this is a tour well worth seeing. I hope that Todd keeps working in this context live.
