"Couldn't I just tell you the way I feel"

Got to the show late, a Friday Night show over at 9:45??? Hum... Minneapolis is a good jaunt but if your not doing the driving.... And the Zoo show isn't starting at 6 a.m. Oh well, maybe our Wizard was taking the Paisley Park tour by the artist who formerly thought he could be odd To the previous reviewers who said the attendance was 800? huh It was a great crowd but that seems high, hey I didn't ask the door the count either.

Todd et. al. were in great form and put on a journeyman show. Todd was in fine voice and Open My Eyes was a highlight. Todd looks in great shape for 50 something and I forget how tall a chap he is until seeing him out on the sidewalk post gig where he was nice enough to give my lovely wife an autograph.

When oh when are the sound crews ever going to learn though that less can be more. While the guitars sounded fine the vocals came across as painfully (that is literal pain) tinty & brash on top of the mix. Pushing enough volume for a auditorium in a mid sized club (with lots of metal (as in sheet metal roof) just is plain stupid. I understand and it makes sense that Todd has to pick up local sound set ups as he goes & it probably helps his bottom line. But to echo previous commentors, I'd be glad to pony up a few more greenbacks to get it right. And of all the 10+ Todd shows I've seen this was the worst sounding one I've ever experienced it and sadly that has nothing to do with the quality of the artists performance.

It was great seeing Becky again, you sure are high on Kasim's list, it brought back memories of chatting with Kasim & the late Gary Windo on the Acapella tour.

To close, "I don't want to bring you down, oh baby" don't ever miss a chance to see Todd, just give the sound crew an earful if they aren't up to snuff.

Nimbus Thitherward! hold that line baby hold that line...
