Chicago Show 5/26/00-set list

Review by Chris Light (Switch to

Hello everybody, I just returned from the first Todd show that I have gone to in 16 years. My last show was seeing Utopia in 1983-84. I was only ten then. After seeing him again, I am kicking myself for waiting so long. So here is the set list from last night(Friday) at the Skyline Stage, Navy Pier, Chicago, IL. Weather, a balmy 60 degrees and damp at show time.
1.I Hate My Frickin' ISP
2.Play This Game
3.Love of the Common Man
4.Black and White
5.Zen Machine
6.Open My Eyes
7.No. 1 Lowest Common Denominator
8.Love In Action
9.You're Fast and I Like It
10.Cliche--Todd solo acoustic
11.Bang On the Drum All Day--Todd called it the "ukelele" (sp?) version. Must
be heard, I loved it.
12.Hit Me Like a Train
13.Temporary Sanity
14.Mystified--with a couple a verses of Broke Down and Busted in the middle
15.Trapped--Kasim sings lead!
16.Secret Society
17.Buffalo Grass
18.One World
19.Hammer in My Heart
20.The Surf Talks
Encore 2
21.Worldwide Epiphany
A couple of comments: Todd was having trouble keeping his guitar in tune. He was in fine shredding form, even broke 2 strings on his black guitar. Kasim was having some sound difficulties, as after one song he was visually upset at one of the techs. But these were minor issues. A killer show. Now I have to seriously think about going to Summerfest in Milwaukee. But it is one hell of drive from Central Illinois.

Also, a special thank you to Cathy (sp?) who helped me with a couple of the new songs and their titles. She made an already great concert that much better with her enthusastic joy and that wild leopard print shirt. ;)
