THE OBVIOUS

same set as last night. tonight's show included two large video screens high above each corner of the stage. a benefit for peoples like me in the balcony who couldn't see a freakin thing.

i'm still not used to TR-i wearing pants while playing guitar. jack and todd are The Shit. i don't even *play* guitar and the chemistry is blatant. it's also obvious that the band is growing into a groove. these mature musicians know how to give, as well as exploit the spotlight.

gary brooker really *is* The Captain. for 'pale', TR-i plays this beautiful light-wood colored 12-string. is that his guitar?

monica lewinsky is in the house.

even more norcal beatles fans with kids tonight, saturday, in the joe mazzola showroom.

THE LESS OBVIOUS

i'm coming to terms with ringo. in dawned on me tonight that this collection of players is not unlike that of the beatles: a mediocre ringo surrounded by incredible musicians.

to open the show both nights was comedian bruce baum. though his jokes were funny last night, and even funnier tonight, i couldn't help but reminisce back to the WaT tour, between sets 1 & 2.

i've always hated clapton. still do. but, now i know what all the fuss is about. jack bruce can make the lamest of players sound great. so, when you put TR-i or eric clapton next to him, it's more than magical.

it's great to watch beatle's kids watch their parents. you can tell they see something new in their parents they haven't seen before. at first, it confuses and angers them, but then they learn that they really can relate to them. this relation extends to other peer groups in the audience as cream, ph, free, TR, & beatles fans 'come together'.

TR's attention is waning. he's into what he's doing, but can't resist his usual mocking, smart-ass remarks or body language. he even teased ringo tonight on the opening chord of 'submarine'; playing it three or four different ways before ringo would approvingly start the toon.

can't wait to get out of this creepy, cold, dark, vacation-lake ghost town. tomorrow night's hometown BCT show should hold some surprises. hopefully.

trying to normalize her life, monica lewinsky
