MOST NEW BANDS KNOW THE VALUE. ITS ONLY WHEN YOU SET THINGS UP BACK TO BACK AND GET THE DIFFERENCE FROM NIGHT TO NIGHT THAT YOU "GET IT"-THOSE WHO KNOW KNOW THAT THIS IS WHERE THE REAL LIFE IS. Note:this is a complete tour that was very skillfully put together by frank bubnick and paul russo. sound is superior board sound and the show is really a nice handpicked collections of good performances from these venues. a great place to start on this tour. sound is just plain killer.

Note:ok guys and gals-heres the story on this one-about in 90-91 i got this dat from kim huffman who procured this from a st louis area fan. i sat on it and did nothing until i asked my trading pal smashmark to transfer it and it is splendid..great show-lots of joke between band and crowd and Narlins mood aplenty..great addition to the cannon-not quite complete but as full as a 120 dat can get..good stuff here..super sound-each one of these is different (mix wise) and this one is cool..todd once told me he didnt boards cause of the mix but hey..isnt that what interactivity is all about..losing control of the mix??? no matter-this is super... well another cd vanished from this list-the long and superb 3/10/90 which is the best-this is also real great ESSENTIAL (ALONG WITH THE 3 CD 3/10/90)

Note:ok guys and gals-heres a nice surprise from eddie from germany..-someone got ahold of a great xrt tape and did it all-it sounds super-in fact-i should say that i always maintained that whats going on cd boot was a tad slow and this cd confirms it..so throw out the old and get this new one- also includes a great bit of the 5/14/78 show which picks up after love my life...i know weve got lots of em..i know...this was only a week before the end. band is cooking..todds voice is a little worn but delivers as he did every night this tour. special.

Note:well this somehow was missing on my site so here it is again..the mother of all NH shows-the last and longest and with the final monologues that grew as the tour grew on..sound is super-i personally believe if i had to take one nh show with me to a desert isle-its a no brainer-its this one..triumphant-our hero has kicked ass across the us and japan and finally gets a couple months rest before the write on the run sessions known as second wind would start up in june when WB were hungry for a followup to tr most commercial and successful album in a long time... Note:wonderful run down of 2nd wind stuff on the eve of the tour leading to the pfa. at this point the tunes are looser and i feel it is regretful of some of these that they ended up so stilted on the end product....fascinating trade offs between roger powell and vinnie on love in disguise-one of my faves...discussion about a guy who ate whole hotdogs on letterman...todd r and michelle talk about michelle falling for the fat guy..these are tough tunes to play..this by the way is almost one cd and the puported 7.12 thing is this again with some snippets of another shows rehearsal..if have to be alone again is one of todds great unknown songs.....this shows you how they put it together...super find in top sound..some distorto on vocs but for the most part its nice....

Note:another wonderous pre 2nd wind show-you know this is one of my fave tours of all....balance pretty nice and lots of guests this night urbano, randy, rex, liv, michell- a real family affair...talk about the baseball games at that stage....hear todd working out the end adlibs on change myself...if i have to be alone is as amazing as 6.29....remarkable..we get wheel instead of jesse because TODDS kids are there.....tr on gtr fire on ulc!!!..much mistakes in kindness....lia is not on the tour, enjoy...todd does "where do we go...where do we go...(gnr)"..adlibs on gaya very very different than the cd version...pp just kicks 2nd wind through the roof-great snare rolls, in factm the whole of the album sounds better without that cavernous reverb snare sound they used live on the later tour...all guests sing on nail..great stuff!!

Note:this is the board from the last nite of recording the 2nd wind album.as you remember they took it on the road in cali and arrived a few weeks later recording the album before an audience. Super clean as a pin-this is on par with the ventura and the other sdbds from nh/2nd wind tour-not much hiss at all- paul and frank did it right here for sure. This is needed. Note:holiday fun in chi town as was the custom in the 90s...great but loose set..members of 2nd wind band..but playing stuff from last 2 tours...shows diff in bands for sure...band is oddly a mix of the 2: haskett.strickland...tagg...urbano...powell...shandi...michelle...allred..workman..very diff compassion..csr races.....and also fades..gayas is odd..an odd selection and one of trs weaker tunes for sure..lia has roger powell solo--afterwhich a joint is obviously passed..the medley benefits from the loosness and rogers parts are sweet indeed)..feel it however does not benefit from the lack of tension..far too many notes played across the board..abrupt cut also..weird gate on snare-slapback..tr gives a disclaimer..tr announces "its roger powell!!!"..then the promoter/fan joe leonard pushes urbano off the stand for hello its me in 6/8...p servant smacks of urban decay and alcohol buzz..very odd version but i really like it a lot....the bonus stuff is neat..i think the soundcheck is from new haven 8/2 but i cant prove it.....t
