1986 | 'UP AGAINST IT' THE ORIGINAL (UNALTERED) DEMOS | CASSETTE (TIMOTHY SMITH) | 71:34 |
Date Added:10/22/2001 Track List:WHEN WORLDS COLLIDE. PARALLEL LINES. FREE MALE AND 21. THE SMELL OF MONEY. IF I HAVE TO BE ALONE. UP AGAINST IT. LOVE IN DISGIUSE. YOULL THANK ME IN THE END. MAYBE IM BETTER OFF. FROM HUNGER. WE UNDERSTAND EACH OTHER. ENTROPY. FINALE BONUS TRACKS: NH DEMOS- PARALLEL LINES. FIDELITY (BOTH TR DEMOS). Note:Through the idea of Larry Clark, and the home deck of one Mr. T. Smith, we come up with a CD of what we had before Todd decided to spruce these up before the Pony Canyon official release. Dont expect same quality as the official but, as all hardcore collectors know; the Todd demos have never been available in pristine quality - there is an annoying hiss in all of them. This is the cleanest we've heard 'em. Tony had this done to respond to what Larry Clark thought of/wanted, Tim (Smith) didnt index the tracks... but as was said, they sound better than they have before. So for those who want to pick out what was changed side-by-side, this is required for those purposes. For those who just want the music, clearly the official "retouched" version on Pony Cannon is the way to go. We think you can find/buy a copy through Scott at TRBAZAAR.~ Warren |

11/22/86 | TODD WITH THE TUBES (W/O FEE WAYBILL) 'JANE DORNACKER TRIBUTE' THE WARFIELD SAN FRANCISCO CA | AUDIENCE RECORDING COURTESY OF GIL IRELAND-ASHLEY | 23 MINS |
Date Added:8/17/2019 Track List:PLAY THIS GAME.LOVE IN ACTION.COME AS YOU ARE.MIGHTY LOVE.JUST ONE VICTORY (CUTS OUT). Note:A 'One Off' for the Tubes (W/o Fee Waybill) backing Todd for this Tribute to Jane Dornacker. This is rare wonderful Audience Recording (I did some editing) Gil transferred it from Cassette for me. It's ALL Todd (with help from the Tubes). He beautifully performs The Tube's 'Come As You Are', and he brings out his entire 'A Capella Tour' Ensemble to back him on 'Mighty Love' & 'Just One Victory'! This is all GREAT, except with the slight cut off of 'Just One Victory'. And thank you Gil! RARE!~ Warren Wikipedia says, “Jane Dornacker (October 1, 1947 – October 22, 1986) was an American rock musician, actress, comedian, and traffic reporter. In 1986, while working for WNBC 660 AM Radio in New York City (which became WFAN in 1988), Dornacker was aboard during two unrelated crashes of the helicopters leased to WNBC. She survived the first crash, but was killed in the second crash into the Hudson River, which occurred as she was delivering a live traffic report. A memorial concert in celebration of Dornacker took place at The Warfield Theatre in San Francisco on Saturday, November 22, 1986. (She wrote ‘Don’t Touch Me There’ for The Tubes)” |

11/22/86 | TODD WITH THE TUBES (W/O FEE WAYBILL) 'JANE DORNACKER TRIBUTE' THE WARFIELD SAN FRANCISCO CA | (SECOND SOURCE) AUDIENCE RECORDING COURTESY OF GIL IRELAND-ASHLEY | 23 MINS |
Date Added:9/12/2019 Track List:PLAY THIS GAME.LOVE IN ACTION.COME AS YOU ARE.MIGHTY LOVE.JUST ONE VICTORY (CUTS OUT). Note:This source is a little ‘rougher' than our first copy. And lot’s of stoned yap from the taper and a girl next to him. But still a pretty good offering for our Archives. The Bass is more evident on this one though. Again, It's ALL Todd (with help from the Tubes). He beautifully performs The Tube's 'Come As You Are', and he brings out his entire 'A Capella Tour' Ensemble ( and Fee Waybill DOES make and appearance just for these two numbers along with Boz Scaggs!) to back him on 'Mighty Love' & 'Just One Victory'! And believe it or not; ‘Just One Victory’ cuts out near the end on this one too! Thank you Gil! Repeat, RARE!~ Warren |

12/7/86 | NEW HAVEN TOAD'S PLACE | AUDIENCE SOURCE | 74:41 |
Track List:PLAY THIS GAME. CLICHE'. TOO FAR GONE. IT WOULDN'T HAVE MADE ANY DIFFERENCE. SONG OF THE VIKING. MATED. LOVE IN ACTION. THE SMELL OF MONEY. BORN TO SYNTHESIZE. PARALLEL LINES. CAN WE STILL BE FRIENDS. LOVE OF THE COMMON MAN. LYSISTRADA. HONEST WORK. COMPASSION. ONE WORLD. LOVE IS THE ANSWER. A DREAM GOES ON FOREVER. Note:The 'Two Week Wonder' tour. Basically the best sound quality there was and the 1st show of the tour. He was a bit scattered, and even forgot CWSBF which caused a rushed Love of The Common man and Lysistrada, but this recording is the premiere performance of both Smell of Money and Parallel Lines. Todd even apologizes for his lack of organization at the end of the show. We have another tape from this venue, with a few additions to the set list, so maybe there were two shows that night. A decent audience recording from awhile back now...~ Tony & Warren |

Date Added:4/7/2005 Track List:CD ONE: PLAY THIS GAME. CLICHE'. TOO FAR GONE. IT WOULDNT HAVE MADE ANY DIFFERENCE. SONG OF THE VIKING. MATED. LOVE IN ACTION. THE SMELL OF MONEY. BORN TO SYNTHESIZE. PARALLEL LINES . CAN WE STILL BE FRIENDS?. CD TWO: LOVE OF THE COMMON MAN. LYSISTRADA. HONEST WORK. COMPASSION. DRIVE. ONE WORLD. LOE IS THE ANSWER. JUST ONE VICTORY (CUTS) Note:A nice and somewhat forgotten show the night before the first drunk show we have...you get a 1986 Parallel Lines, 2 A Cappella tunes live (Synth and Honest Work)..sound is actually better than most audies from the period...not on par with the best stuff we have soundwise, but may be the best performance from 1986 ('Two Week Wonder')...there is really not much yap for a Holiday show...but a really very nice selection. This one is pretty decent tape to find that hadnt yet been transferred, not a sdbd, but pretty nice/very solid audie all in all. Very enjoyable show/performance, makes it one to have even if you have 12/31 (below).~ Tony |

12/31/86 | CHICAGO PARK WEST | SOUNDBOARD | 73:06 |
Track List:INTRO. PLAY THIS GAME. CLICHE'. TOO FAR GONE. IT WOULDN'T HAVE MADE ANY DIFFERENCE. SONG OF THE VIKING. THE SMELL OF MONEY. ONE WORLD. LOVE IS THE ANSWER. JUST ONE VICTORY. Note:A Chicago New Years Eve show which is purported to be the late show... and Todd is drunk for sure. This CD is not for those who wish a perfect performance, but this really is enjoyable (comedy-wise)... Todd begins the show annoucing " he would take for granted that everyonme in the audience is as f***d up as he is", Todd has a penchant for the 'f' word ("...If you'd like I'll be your f****n Viking")... Talks about $35 a show (in 1986!)... Talks about how Reagan was proved to be a liar... when someone says Todd is Godd, he replies "Godd is drunk!...". Refers to "Pee Wee's Crackhouse"... just really a fun time and amazing how much he laughs through it... not for everyone and not meant to demean Todd's name...just a fun CD for those who can take the joke... people say the late 1987 San Rafael show was the 'drunk show' but this one he was pretty far gone...he does a great version of Love Is The Answer before he leaves the stage... no celebration as Todd goes from Smell of Money to One World~ Tony & Warren |
