Largest Collection On The Globe of Todd Rundgren Audio Rarities

Greetings Audio Toddheads! Warren H. (Atlanta, GA. USA) here. Tony Rogers and I have transferred our entire audio collections over to my home in 2008. We (Tony & I) thought my circumstances (A 62 year old, single, IT specialist/Audio Editor guy in Atlanta with lots of Todd Rundgren history/archival collecting since 1972) would be ideal for taking over the 'Library' in all its glory. And, so an 'incorporation' of his and my colossal collections takes place! I now curate this ‘museum’. And I plan to share much of this, just as Tony did all these decades. And yes, I’m somewhat of a Todd Rundgren Historian. I have been 'following' Todd extensively (in all forms of media) ever since I saw (and met) him here at an Historic Show at Atlanta’s Fabulous Fox Theatre on November 8 1973. So I know 'enough'. Please note that I say share my enthusiasm. No buying or selling. Nor will a penny exchange hands. Never.
I want to say a big THANK YOU in advance to all of you who are going to help and have helped with this so far. I’ll do my best. Write me anytime. twarrenh@gmail.com
Just scroll down to the items listed below by period and click on any year to browse the collection.
We've also recently been working in collaboration with my friend Frank Bubnick and his well known vast quality collection (you can visit his list by clicking on his name). Some of his editing is unequaled anywhere.
And some late breaking neat news : I believe most of you are familiar with the JEMS group. A bunch of super collectors for many bands’ audience recordings (predominate though are Yes and Springsteen). Well known for their re-mastering prowess and quality. They’ve been in contact with me for a couple of years, and in December of last year offered me all their (originals) Todd Rundgren Collection. They just didn’t have the resources or the time for refining anything by Todd Rundgren. It just wasn’t on their timeline. I received all their cassettes (60) within a few weeks! Most of them are MASTER tapes from the original Taper. They will be sending me all their DATs and Reels at a later date. I will be listing all these recordings here, as I digitally transfer them. With this addition of the JEMS collection I believe these Todd Rundgren Archives are easily the largest collection on the planet.
How do we share you ask? Well, Just for what it's worth, we really don't do the 'snail mail trading' (by postal) much these days. So, if you would like me to share or trade any of this 'Catalog' with you, it would be more convenient/easiest to share in the form of on-line file transfer. Generally, in .flac format, compressed to .zip or .rar for smoother/faster quality exchange [depending upon the size of the audio file(s) we might be exchanging of course]. Hope that all makes sense. I can work with you on 'all that'. Again, write me, and then we'll come to an agreement of sorts. Please keep in mind, that anything that is 'Official', or 'Professionally Marketed', or still available for 'Retail' purchase is not of consideration. Nor is there any monetary means of transaction.
I do not have any rights to, and I am not open for sharing any material that may be listed below that has been commercially or officially released and is still available retail. (It may be listed below for collection listing purpose only). I do not take or give any money for a single item below either. I do not take away any proceeds that are due to Todd Rundgren, family, friends, business or supporting/associated musicians. If it is ROIO (recording of independent origin), then I'm open to share. Support the artist! Go buy his stuff where and whenever available! Speaking of which; an ultimate place to find/buy Todd's releases and imports & rarities is TRBAZAAR. Check it out! If Scott ain't got it, nobody does...just about! And of course many past official CD/DVD releases and proprietary Todd merchandise is readily available for ordering on-line at The Toddstore. So check them out for sure.
I like to give credit where credit is due too. So please forgive me if I do not credit the right persons involved in making these recordings available/possible for all these years.
I’ll start a ‘Credits’ list here below, and maintain it on down the road. Like to make sure all the folks involved are appreciated. For now, let me go ahead and thank some folks that have really been instrumental in these archives (no particular order): Tony Rogers (of course), Mike Armes, Jeff Gauss 'Weavil' (RIP), Frank Bubnick, Paul Russo, Hiroshi Kawauchi, Istvan Berzenczei, Sara Kritzer, Barry Beiseigel, Marc Linowitz, Rob 'Lockjaw' Levangie, Roger Steel, Mike Adrian, Gil Ireland-Ashley, Jim Farrell, Dale Michelsohn, Gary Urwin, Don B., Bob Stanislowski (RIP), Micheal B., Jon Risen, Jon Babcock, Mark Wilpolt, Tom Cannon, Lin Sprague, Joe Franks, Chris 'Razz', Geoff (& Rick) Laurenzo, Ted Moon, Richard Roys, Storm Hunter, Moz (Mike), Sohta Fujito, David Skye, Allen Law, Matt Walsh, Kevin Lewis, Doug Ford, Dave Knife, JEMS, Jared Houser, Gene Poole, 'Elegymart', Gail Artsgard, Victor Baissait, Connor Payne and players to be named later. Special thanks to Roger Linder for providing this page space for us for decades. Let's Rock!
BTW, I call this group of people 'My Cartel'. However, I have given the group a Media name: F451 Media (as in 451 Farenheit). It is not a brand name, for nothing of mine is for sale or has been sold EVER. It is a logo for these dedicated Todd Rundgren Collectors , which most of been doing this since the early 90s (and even earler). Our logo is:

6/14/75 INITIATION 45RPM MIXES & SIDE 2 AT PROPER SPEED (24/44.1) COURTESY JON RISEN N/A
Date Added:1/26/2013
Track List:SIDE TWO OF INITIATION. REAL MAN & PRANA (45RPM VERSION SIDE A & SIDE B)
Note:Jon Risen & friends has put much effort and thought in providing us with these mixes. Jon says,"I've always been aggravated by the so called remastering and repackaging of Todd’s albums so I elected to do my own ‘remaster’ of the ‘Initiation’ Album. I didn't do much to the sound, just tried to make it sound as natural as possible, kind of how the ‘mix-down’ master tape would have sounded in the studio. I also corrected the pitch of ‘Treatise’, which has never been corrected since it was released. It was raised originally during mastering so it would fit on one side of the vinyl LP. I also included four sequences that were used during the mixing of ‘Treatise’ that Todd found on a reel in Bearsville studios tape archive in 1998. In addition here are the 45 rpm single mixes with A Side is 'Real Man' & B Side is 'Prana' from 'Treatise On Cosmic Fire'! A funkier re-mix of 'Real Man'. Drums and guitar are up front as well as vocals. Rare re-mix of 'Prana' located on the flip side of the 'Real Man' 45 RPM single. You may be saying to yourself, this is playing too slow? This is playing at the correct speed as the entire side 2 of Initiation was sped up 1/2 a step to fit onto one side of vinyl as comfortably as possible… slow it down a half step one day to listen to it as it was intended. The guitar is mixed further up in the mix as well as the drums being more prominate. Enjoy!" –Mojorisen”
7/13/75 COBO HALL DETROIT MI AUDIENCE (REMIX WARREN) 154:00
Date Added:12/31/2016
Track List:DISC ONE:STAR SPANGLED BANNER/UTOPIA THEME.WHEN THE SHIT HITS THE FAN/SUNSET BLVD./LE FEEL INTERNACIONALE.FREEDOM FIGHTERS.DON'T YOU EVER LEARN.THE SEVEN RAYS.HEAVY METAL KIDS. IKON SEGMENT. THE WHEEL.REAL MAN.BORN TO SYNTHESIZE.DEATH OF ROCK AND ROLL. DISC TWO:EASTERN INTRIGUE.INITIATION.FAIR WARNING. (CUTS IN)'VEGAS' MEDLEY. NO. 1 LOWEST COMMON DENOMINATOR. FREAK TALK.FREAK PARADE.(CUTS IN)THE LAST RIDE. MR TRISCUITS.SOMETHING'S COMING.OPEN MY EYES.SONS OF 1984
Note:I had originally posted a 'tweak' in 2014 by Joe Franks of this very rare one. I thought the only existing copy of this concert was on some rough tapes sent to me from Frank Bubnick. Not to demean Joe's work for he worked very hard on all we had at the time. And he came up with a good presentation.Lots of channel problems with the tapes. However, recently, Hiroshi (Rosh) had sent me his copy of a much improved show. I don't think it's any secret that I love the early 70s good ole' 6 piece band. And this is the first show of Utopia's 1975 Summer Tour (Willie replaces Kevin here). And the band is Summer 'HOT' here! Hiroshi's version held much promise, so I went to work on it. I have an old version of Audition (3.0) and it has a great Graphic equalizer (You can have 10, 20 or 30 Band. And you can listen as you proceed) so I had much to play with. My first task as always is bringing out the vocals. Without making a decibel mess. Then I work on the symphonics (instrumentation) and lastly, the bass. Audition has a wonderful effect 'Stereo Expander' which you can make a momo recording very much 'head phone-able' stereo. There wasn't alot of 'pitch' work need from Hiroshi's copy either! Any pitch corrections, I always use Audacity. I think it's a 'Beaut'. And it's one of my ESSENTIAL audience recordings. I have no idea who to give credit to for this wonderful audience recording. Thank you whomever you are. I hope your proud of what I've done.~ Warren
7/19/75 ARROWHEAD STADIUM KANSAS CITY MO AUDIENCE (GEOFF LAURENZO) 60:00
Date Added:2/8/2016
Track List:7/19/75 STAR SPANGLED BANNER/UTOPIA. WHEN THE SHIT HITS THE FAN/SUNSET BLVD/LE FEEL INTERNACIONALE. FREEDOM FIGHTERS. REAL MAN. VEGAS MEDLEY : INCLUDES - SOMETIMES I DON’T KNOW WHAT TO FEEL (FADES OUT AT TAPE FLIP), A DREAM GOES ON FOREVER, HELLO ITS ME & I SAW THE LIGHT. #1 LOWEST COMMON DENOMINATOR. HEAVY METAL KIDS. OPEN MY EYES. DO YA. COULDN'T I JUST TELL YOU.
Note:A not so bad, but very much not great, audience recording by Rick Laurenzo’s brother Geoff. Being that it was at Arrowhead, it has an extreme Stadium PA sound to it. So Geoff did a great job! We just did a digital transfer from the Master cassettes (2) on this one. No editing except splitting tracks and fade outs & fade ins for tape flips and some ‘drop outs’ during audience applause at the end of tunes. Not any bells & whistles.
This was an ‘abbreviated’ set due to the fact that they were sharing the bill with other bands. Black Oak Arkansas was the Headliner. Very much listenable though. We get the entire hour long show and great for our Archives here posterity-wise. So much thanks again to Rick for sharing all his brother’s Masters!~ Warren

Track List:STAR SPANGLED BANNER.UTOPIA . WHEN THE SHIT HITS THE FAN/SUNSET BLVD./LE FEEL INTERNACIONALE. FREEDOM FIGHTERS.DON'T YOU EVER LEARN.ANOTHER LIFE.(FADES IN) THE IKON (ONLY A 6 MINUTE SEGMENT). HITS 'VEGAS' MEDLEY (SOMETIMES I DON'T KNOW/A DREAM GOES ON FOREVER/HELLO IT'S ME/I SAW THE LIGHT) . #1 LOWEST COMMON DENOMINATOR.THE LAST RIDE. MR TRISCUITS. SOMETHING'S COMING. HEAVY METAL KIDS. OPEN MY EYES. SONS OF 1984.DO YA.COULDN’T I JUST TELL YOU.JUST ONE VICTORY.
Note:Another rare beauty from Rick Laurenzo's brother Geoff! And I was given the MASTER tapes again to transfer. I also didn't have to do a lot of tweaking/editing either. Again we get to hear the 'Another Live' time period band of six members (Todd, Moogy, Ralph, Roger, Willie and John). For Moogy and Ralph would depart in October, before the Tour across the Atlantic.
We only have 104 minutes of this one. I'm not sure of the situation with this show (whether Todd was on the Bill with somebody else or not). But, from the sets that we've heard during this leg of the tour, I think we're missing 'The Seven Rays', 'The Wheel', 'Real Man', 'Born To Synthesize', 'Death Of Rock & Roll', 'Eastern Intrigue', 'Initiation' & 'Fair Warning'. And Geoff used 60 minute tapes (two) on this one. Again, this has never been in circulation before/ever (until now). We love the selection we have here, and there's more of Geoff's Masters coming to us on down the pipeline.~ Warren

SECOND HALF OF SHOW:(INTRO FADES IN)TODD MEDLEY ‘VEGAS STYLE’:SOMETIMES I DON’T KNOW WHAT TO FEEL/A DREAM GOES ON FOREVER/HELLO IT’S ME/I SAW THE LIGHT.#1 LOWEST COMMON DENOMINATOR. TECHNOLOGICAL BLUES RAP (ROGER POWELL INTRO). MISTER TRISCUITS (CUTS OUT AT ENDING).(CUTS IN AT BEGINNING) SOMETHING’S COMING.HEAVY METAL KIDS.OPEN MY EYES. SONS OF 1984.BAND INTROS.DO YA.COULDN’T I JUST TELL YOU.JUST ONE VICTORY.
Note:This one has always been a 'sleeper'. The version that has been in the Todd audio rarities collectors' circulation, for decades, was slightly muddy. This version, that I just received, is the same audience tape, but has more between song happenings, and someone has put a "tweak" to it. I don't know what all they really did, but it's alright with me! It has some 'Arena Venue sound' to it, but many of these tracks are 'soundboardish'. The whole thing is very crisp and clear (As opposed to the version that I think we all had). And with headphones on, this whole thing is up front and in your face. Just listen to "The Seven Rays" or Todd's blistering Mustang Fender guitar on "#1 Lowest Common Denominator". There's some chatter going on during much of the show by the folks sitting next to the taper, but it's barely audible.
Now one of the very best audience recordings we have of 1975. And this one special for the fact that it's the six piece band (Todd, Moogy, Ralph, Roger, Willie and John). The same band that gives us 'Another Live'. Moogy and Ralph would depart in October, before the Tour across the Atlantic. So yes we have the awesome Den Haag audience tapes (and Boston tapes from late in the Tour), but that's the reduced Band. Again, we have a lot of 'Official' release (soundboard) stuff from the 1975 Tour, but this is another grand audience capture.
As with all the 1975 Tour, the show was split in half with a brief intermission (which used to 'foil' the tapers). So we get a chopped capture of "Real Man Reprise" which was a seamless part of "Fair Warning". And at the beginning of the second half, the "Vegas Style Medley" introduction fades in.
I don't know what to tell you when burning to CD. For only the opener through "Eastern Intrigue" would fit on a first disc. And you really can't split "Eastern Intrigue" and "Initiation" for they are seamless music. And to put those two on the beginning of a second CD, forces a three CD set.
But you'll ENJOY this 'Revisit' I sure do. ESSENTIAL~ Warren

Note:Another one from my 'Well' of MASTER Tapes coming in from Rick Laurenzo's brother Geoff. We already had a very good 'first source' of this one, but this one's a pretty good alternative. We had to do a small bit of editing, but this one is another Gem. It starts off a little muddy, but picks up with Tracks 7 through 18 being marvelous. Well worth keeping for the Todd collector's shelf! Again these are the Master Tapes! (Recorded With T-42 Sony Portable)~ Warren
Missing/not recorded would be: 'Utopia', 'When The Shit Hits The Fan/Sunset Blvd./Le Feel Internacionale', 'Freedom Fighters', 'Don't You Ever Learn', 'The Seven Rays', 'Ikon' Excerpt' and 'The Wheel'. Oh....we're also missing the 'Vegas Intro' that was performed before 'Sometime I Don't Know'.

Note:This one's a little rough (as opposed to what we’re used to of Geoff L.’s Recordings). Geoff is surrounded by friends talking very much throughout.. .and much microphone movement and 'interruption'. I couldn't do much with editing. No 'seasoning'. I just split the tracks and went with it. A fun listen though. Some moments the acoustics are very good. Buts loads of chatter and yelling and clapping for the most part. It's the whole show with the exception of possibly missing opener 'Star Spangled Banner'. One for the 'hard core'. But still a collector’s item. It's the 'Another Live' time period (August 1975) with the whole Utopia ensemble: Todd, Moogy, Ralph, John, Roger and Willie. Much thanks again to the Laurenzo Brothers. Again, this is the MASTER Tapes~ Warren

CD THREE: SONS OF 1984. DO YA. COULDN'T I JUST TELL YOU. JUST ONE VICTORY.
Note:I was going to upgrade what I already had of this show, and then I found three dusty old CDs in my (inherited from Tony Rogers) Archives. Small hand writing to identify the audience recording just reads: 'From My Master". It's definetly a low generation recording, and a bit different from what I think is out there in circulation. And quite frankly, I hit a home run with my recent tweaking of it. I thought the recording held lots of promise. So I spent a very long time with Adobe Audition to get it very close to 'Soundboard' sound. It's now that good! I slowed the tempo/speed down (it ran too fast). I pulled the vocals very much up front. Then 'area beautification' with the instrumentation. Audition has awesome Filters and EQ, and an incredible Stereo Expand application. Many tracks had to be correctly re-split. I even patched in a small piece from 'Another Live' CD to the 'Another Life' track. This is now a EXQUISITE UPGRADE! The six minute and forty three second 'Intermission' Track pushes this Show to three discs. I seperated it, in a fashion, so that anyone may decide to omit it (or not) and burn two discs instead. Everybody will enjoy and be amazed at this new version! Quite a Collectors Trophy for your shelf. This show was a big part of Todd History. Of course, 'Another Live' was recorded at this gig. And though much of this show was recorded for the album, Moggy & Ralph quit the band just a few days after this famous gig. I call this my 'COMPLETE 'ANOTHER LIVE'~ Warren
*Update 2017-09-03: Seems Jon Risen did a very good upgrade at the same time I did (One track .wav of the show).

HEAVY METAL KIDS. OPEN MY EYES. SONS OF 1984. DO YA. COULDN'T I JUST TELL YOU. JUST ONE VICTORY.
Note:A decent audience tape from this first show in England. I can’t believe it had been missing from our vaults until now. And thanks to Istvan, it’s on our 'shelf'. These old tapes has been quite enhanced. Whoever edited it, thank you! The instrumentation is clear. But vocals are a bit distant and 'concert hallish' hollow. However, this is very good historic record, for ‘Black & White’ is debuted for the first performance of it ever. ‘Another Life’ replaces ‘The Seven Rays’ and ‘Bassball’ replaces ‘Mr. Triscuits' here. Istvan tells us that ‘Black & White’ was actually recorded, for upcoming album ‘Faithful’, during their UK leg of the tour. As mentioned in the notes of most these 1975 European dates , Moogy & Ralph had left the band three weeks prior, and Roger Powell had learned and performed the parts of three keyboardists...and pulled it off spectacularly! I believe I've said this in all previous European Date entries, that I think that these Europe dates were important dates. For Moogy & Ralph had left the band by this time. This leg of the tour (European) opened with Roger playing the part of three keyboardists. He was very intimidated and worried about it all. Note:This gem comes from the UK. A decent audience tape from this famous show and cleaned up marvelously by Mr Good. The instrumentation is clear. But vocals are a bit distant and 'concert hallish' hollow. However, this is very good historic record. This was THE show of all shows for Utopia in 1975. Moogy & Ralph had left the band three weeks prior, and Roger Powell had learned and performed the parts of three keyboardists...and pulled it off spectacularly! ESSENTIAL~ Warren

Track List:ANNOUNCER'S INTRO. REAL MAN. TODD'S INTRO. SEVEN RAYS. ANNOUNCER'S OUTRO
Note:Lost in the vaults forever it seemed. Until Istvan comes to the rescue and provides us with this 'cherry' copy of Todd Rundgren's Utopia's stop at the BBC during the 1975 UK/European Tour. What can I say, but the sound quality is crystal and the performance is incredible. ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL and thank you Istvan.~ Warren

Note:This is how I first discovered this recording. I bought the bootleg LP from the back of a local record store in Downtown Hotlanta decades ago. I played it so much, that I went back a year or so later and bought another one and kept it safe. Yep, it’s still in great shape to this day. It is simply CLASSIC. The phonics are brilliant. Notice the different selection and/or order of the tracks. And then the ‘Open My Eyes’ Boot CD surfaced with additional tunes, ‘Do Ya’. & ‘Couldn't I Just Tell You’…but no ‘The Wheel’. Then later, BBC broadcast all this combination of tracks and included 'The Wheel' again and‘Initiation’. Wish we had all the soundboard from this historic show, but it just hasn’t been found. ESSENTIAL ~ Warren

Note:Thanks to euro superfan Istvan for some more of his great work-a great clean up on this passed around tape from old days-evidently Istavan was the taper so this is as good as you can get-not perfect. Audience tapes have their trouble from this age. But anyone who is familiar with the tape, will be stunned by this clean up job done by Istvan-complete show. And there can never be too many of these especially since Istvan has brought this one to life.

Note:Yep, 1975-10-12 Todd Rundgren's Utopia Congresgebouw Den Haag Netherlands Revisited. Probably one of my most favorite Live recordings of ANYBODY (and probably many of ya'lls too). Simply put, this one of the best audience recordings of the 70s. But basically, István tells me that it was actually recorded using a Mini UHER real to reel tape deck using headphones & a microphone. However it was recorded, it's very good. I just felt it needed a little 'something'. Recently...Again, I dug out the old cassettes which read; 'First Dub of István’s Master w/Clean Up Job'. Transferred them to digital, split the tracks, and I sent it all to one of the faithful old guys - Paul Russo (I won't get lengthy, but his pro re-mastering recognition is all over this Rare Audio Archive listing). Actually, on these rare old István tapes, the instrumentation (guitar, keyboards, bass & drums) has always been super clear & obvious here. So I asked Paul to bring out the vocals. I said, ‘Paul, 'Give Us Just One Victory. And It'll Be Alright'. What I got back, is much like a soundboard recording, or a 'Pre -FM'! So I just had to do another 'entry' here. THIS is nothing short of spectacular! ~ Warren
BTW, my Dutch friend Dee tells me that the venue was called Het Congresgebouw in the city of The Hague (not Amsterdam). The Hague is sometimes called Den Haag. So I changed the titles to reflect that.

Note:Partial show broadcast (poorly )on French FM. John Siegler tells the story of this show in that the lights and PA were tied into the same system. If they moved the lights, it would effect the sound (and viceversa). So the lights stayed in one position the whole show. "Very erie feel..", John said. BTW, the entire show by audience recording is in the entry below.~ Warren

Note:A great EQ and tweek provided by our buddy Joe Franks. Taped very much from a distance it seems. But a very VERY listenable & essential 1st generation audience recording. Interesting to compare it with the above French FM source. Some great stories behind this show as authored in Billy James book.~ Warren

Note:Another 'Holy Grail' find, done by the Lorenzo Brothers! A great audience recording, though an abbreviated one. This was a single MASTER tape (90 Min) that they trusted me to transfer. Maybe Utopia shared the Bill again with another Act, for we're missing a lot here for this Todd Rundgren's Utopian time period. The lack of a 'Vegas Style' Medley surely leads me to believe that (Or maybe they weren’t doing the Vegas Style Hits medley anymore at this point in ’75. I can’t remember). Even still, performed (but not recorded) would've have been at least some of these regulars': 'The Ikon (Excerpt)','#1 Lowest Common Denominator', 'Mr. Triscuits/Something's Coming', 'Heavy Metal Kids' and the encore usuals; 'Open My Eyes’, 'Sons of 1984', 'Do Ya', 'Couldn't I Just Tell You' and 'Just One Victory'. But they evidently had an Intermission, like they did with the 2 hour shows. However, it's still worthy of any Collector's Trophy shelf. Again, at this point Utopia was a four piece Band (Todd, Willie, Roger & Siegler). For in September, Moogy, Ralph & Kevin had left the Band. It's still always interesting to hear how wonderful Roger covers three pianists’ parts by himself.

Note:Another beauty from Rick Laurenzo's 'Bro'. Again, this is taken from the MASTER cassettes (2). This one has a different flavor to it though. It is not 'soundboardish' acoustics (as is most the other Geoff Recordings), for it may have been recorded a bit further from the stage. However, it is a very attractive recording. Clear and 'stable' sound. We get the entire show with the four piece Utopia (Todd, Roger, Willie & John). I also love it for the switch of 'The Last Ride' for 'Don't You Ever Learn'...And 'Black & White' (Todd introduces ‘Black & White’ as a brand new tune) replaces 'Technological Blues' (a Roger Powell piece). It doesn't break my heart that 'The Wheel' fades out. We do get pretty much the whole tune. The whole of side one of 'Initiation' is performed here as well. This is very rare, collectable and YOU'LL ENJOY. Worthy of burning to CDs for your listening pleasure too. And the wonderful thing is that there are much much Laurenzo Recordings to follow. Thank you Rick and Geoff! -Master Tapes recorded with T-42 Sony Portable-~Warren

Note:Another one of Geoff’s stops around the whole Mid-Western US. Not much I could do with this audience recording. There's just too much 'PA System echo' ( is what I'll call it). There's a helluvalot 'going on' next to Geoff's microphones here too (talking, yelling, clapping & microphone ‘bumps’). But it's a very much fun listen. I would have loved to have done some 'magic' to it, if just for the set list alone. At least we have Geoff’s very good 11/9/75 Northrop recording (which the set list is much like). Again, thanks so much for sharing your MASTERrecording for me Geoff!~ Warren

Note:Note:Was a pretty weak/muffled audience recording. Both Joe and Istvan took stabs at re-mixing these age old tapes. It's a real challenge to decide which 'job' is the best. Ain't that a great problem to have? A combination of the best out of both, really makes this a masterpiece. This show also includes an early version Black & White. So much thanks goes out to my buddies Istvan & Joe. Magicians!~ Warren
*Note: I really screwed up the listing originally on this one for the vaults! I had listed it as 10/02/75 The Odeon Birmingham England and as Todd Rundgren’s Premier appearance in the UK. After much research, we find that it is, in fact, The Premier Theatre in Westburgh NY. And for that I sorely apologize to all involved. But their work on this show still stands as ‘stellar’. So Thank you Istvan & Joe Franks. How could I be so lame!? ~ Warren

Note:We have Jon Risen to thank for this version. He performed miracle surgery on this. Because my tapes of this are very low generation from the masters. And they are very muddy. How he made it sound this magnificent, I’ll never know. It is grand. Very soundboard like. Pro-grade. I'm thinking it's the second best of what we have from 1975 audience recordings (Den Haag being the best by far). Lots of 'Initiation' here...a complete version of fan favorite ‘Fair Warning’ starts off Disc Two. Some technical problems, with the 'synthetic receiver' Todd started using in 1975, throughout the last half of the show. But not annoying whatsoever. And when you hear ‘Heavy Metal Kids’ through ‘Just One Victory’ you’ll may be a little disappointed. They’re still good, but for some reason, the original tape recording is much muffled on these as opposed to the rest of the shows performances. Maybe the recorder had to conceal their device? These are not as strong as the rest of the tracks… but again, still pretty good here.
At this point Utopia was a four piece Band (Todd, Willie, Roger & Siegler). In September, Moogy, Ralph. M.Frog & Kevin had left the Band. Interesting to hear how wonderful Roger covers three pianists’ parts by himself. Very soon after this show, they would record Disco Jets with Seigler, and then the "new Utopia" era would begin as Kasim would soon arrive on the scene (on a greyhound bus he took to Lake Hill from Staten Island).~ Warren
