"Forget All About It" The Nazz From the album Nazz Nazz (1968) Transcribed by Brian Canfield (dontpoll@aol.com) Really cool song. I'm mainly just gonna label the chords. There is guitar in the verse, but it's really that harpsichord that drives most of the song. So this one should be good for keyboard players too. I will try to point people in the general direction of Todd's guitar solo, even though I won't actually tab it out, since I'm still not real comfortable with tabbing lead guitar stuff. Intro: Bb Ab Eb Db Verse: Bbm Eb Db Eb (x2) Bbm Eb Db Eb Everyone's got to have a cause or two Bbm Eb Db Eb No one's changing enough to help you Bbm Eb There's something basically wrong Db Eb Ab/F Everywhere, we revolve out of our time Bb/F And we know that's there's Ab/F Bb/F nobody listening to people like us Ab/F Bb/F But for now, for awhile.. Chorus: C Bb F C We just forget all about it awhile Bb F C Forget all about it awhile Eb F For awhile Thoughts of life, lots of women, thoughts of love These are things that we can't be sure of And every minute you live takes you a minute towards when you must die And we know there are times when I'm not even sure I'm alive But for now, for awhile We just forget all about it awhile Forget all about it awhile For awhile Break: Bb Ab Eb Db Ab Gb Db Cb Guitar Solo: Bb Ab (repeatedly) Bridge: Ebmaj7 Dm7 Gm7 No one's fit to run the world, as far as I can see Ebmaj7 Dm7 The only person fit to run my world is me Fm7 Ebmaj7 But that's just one of my own personal crusades Fm7 And for now I'm not complaining, not campaigning Ab/Bb Ebm7 If you haven't got time to rest, then take the record off now Bb Gm7 C Bb F Now... Forget all about it.. etc.. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Guitar Solo (starts at 2:03 of the song) I'm really bad at this sort of thing, but I did find this one a little less mind boggling than some of his other solos. Mainly because it's rather short, and he stays (roughly) in the same position the whole time. It uses the Bb Minor Pentatonic Scale, roughly ranging from the 13th fret to the 18th fret, and pretty much just on the high 3 strings. If you know the CAGED System, it's using the "A" and "G" positions for Bb Minor Pentatonic. E---13-16-18----------------------------------------------------- B---14-16-18----------------------------------------------------- G---13-15-18----------------------------------------------------- D---------------------------------------------------------------- A---------------------------------------------------------------- E---------------------------------------------------------------- ^Those are the notes primarily used in the solo..I'm not gonna try to tab out exactly what he's playing, but if you improvise using those notes, using a few bends and lots of vibrato, it should sound good.
