Moogy Klingman, Tom Cosgrove and Stu Woods started playing together in
the "Vagrants" with Leslie West in 1969. After Leslie left, Tommy became lead
singer and lead guitarist of the Vagrants. Then Moogy, Tommy and Stu formed a
band with Todd Rundgren and recorded and toured with him. Moogy, Tommy and
Stu then recorded with Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck on the "Music from Free
Creek"-album. Moogy joined "Utopia" while Tommy and Stu made two classic albums as
the group "Brethren". Moogy and Stu then recorded with Bob Dylan while Tommy
gigged with Dr. John and the Ronnie Hawkins Band.
August 5th at the Cutting Room will be the first time that Moogy
Tommy and Stu are gigging together in 30 years. The drummer Denny McDermott has
been gigging and recording with Donald Fagan, Phoebe Snow and Marc Cohen

                          Nazz with Stewkey
Stewkey was the lead singer of the original Nazz who recorded 3 Albums for
Atlantic in the late 60's. Among their hit singles were "Open My Eyes" and
"Hello It's Me
This is Stewkey's new Nazz in  their New York debut.

See great photos of the Moogy, Tommy Cosgrove and Stu Woods in the
Vagrants in 1969 and Moogy Klingman band w/Tommy Cosgrove and Stu Woods in 2005

This is going to be a great show at the Cutting Room. Moogy Klingman
is going to be reunited with Tommy Cosgrove and Stu Woods for the first time
in over 30 years.
And Stewkey, the Nazz's original lead singer, will be debuting his
new Nazz with all new members for the very first time in the New York area.
Moogy (keys & vocs), Tommy (vocs and lead guitar) and Stu (bass)
played together in the legendary Vagrants with Leslie West and beyond, with Tommy
ultimately replacing Leslie West as lead singer and lead guitarist. Then Moogy,
Tommy and Stu joined Todd Rundgren in LA for his band in the early 70s. Tommy
and Stu are featured on many Todd early bootlets including live concerts from
WMMR in Phili and live from Ultrasonic studios in Long Island. Though it was
Todd's band, Tommy Cosgrove sang lead on many of his own songs on these boots.
Some of these songs will be played at the upcoming gigs.
Moogy and Stu both played on Todd's biggest hit, "Hello, it's Me".
Moogy, Tommy and Stu then went on to work on the "Music from Free
Creek" supersession album, recording with Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck. Moogy and
Stu went on to record a supersession album with Al Kooper and Shuggie Otis.
Then Moogy and Stu recorded with Bob Dylan on various albums.
Moogy went on to join "Utopia" with Todd Rundgren while Stu and
Tommy Cosgrove formed "Brethren" and recorded two classic albums on Sceptor
records while Moogy recorded solo albums for Capitol & EMI records. Moogy also
co-wrote with Buzzy Linhart, Bette Midler's theme song "You Gotta Have Friends".
Moogy, Tommy and Stu will be performing classic songs from these
records as well as new material and funky blues standards.
It's the first time Tom Cosgrove will be singing all his old classics
in over a decade.  The rehearsals have been going great and it's going to be a
great show.
And remember it's a true king of pop - Stewkey's new Nazz in their NYC
debut.
Don't miss this.
And if you can't come Friday nite August 5th, Moogy and Tommy's band
will be at Pete's Tavern (no nazz) on Saturday nite Aug. 6th for three sets.
