Really, Todd, incredible. Todd began confessing that he and the band were a bit melancholy as this was the last performance from the Arena tour. Then they did, indeed, play the venue (fewer than 500 seats) as though it were an arena. Huge sound, tight as ever, band was fantastic, and of course the songs - the music, the lyrics, Todd's vocals. I don't know how he keeps it coming. Even the banter with the audience was fun and only a few jokes at the expense of Orange County. (Which seemed fine with me - we came down from LA and it is a different world.)
I've always been more of a fan of Todd's acoustic/solo work, not so much a big rocker. But he may have converted me last night. He delivered 200% - as my boyfriend said, straight from the solar plexus.
