I had the opportunity to view the Todd concert in Bearsville last night. The Bearsville Theater really is a great place to watch a show.While most rockers tend to mellow out and come out with acoustic versions of everything they ever did , Mr. Rundgren clearly does not have that in mind. The music was great, some oldies like Black Maria, for one were followed by a long set of all new material which was fresh and invigorating. The main theme was ROCK AND ROLL . The old saying " If its too loud then your too old" did not apply here .The band seemed very different without Kasim, but the new bassist Rachel was an absolute pleasure to watch. I was able to get into a good position at the right of the stage by the exit doors which put me up higher than most of the crowd , so I was able to really see the band clearly.I cannot remember ever seeing Todd tour with a female band member, he might want to do that again.
