I have been waiting for this since the Liars tour.... Todd was on fire and gave us
exactly what we would expect from a 37 year veteran of the music business.
Absolutely fierce guitar playing, a terrific set spanning his career, solid singing,
and just a terrific experience that we have all come to expect over all these
years. 'Hawking' floored the audience... 'Black Maria' totally smoked, 'Drive'
mesmerized, 'Mammon' shook us.... Just a wonderful evening in a great theatre
with a group of fans that you could just feel were having their memories and emotions
being ringed out throughout the evening. TR still moves us... And being able to spend
time with him before and after the show, you just felt that he has again cycled back
to being in a good place with himself and his career. He understands his audience and
truly appreciates the sincere affection that so many of us have for him. He is in a
good place.... It was really nice to see that. From our first meeting in Lake Hill, NY
at his home in 1978, to this past Sunday, my sisters, wife, and I have come to really
feel he is a part of our family. So many memories, and the privilege to talk about the past,
present, and future with him...., I'm grateful and lucky. We'll be thinking about you Todd
in Rome next week. Hold onto that wallet next time..!!! :- )
