Phoenix review

Hello......hello again.......

Timewarp to the 80's.....

I have always been a lukewarm Blondie fan but their opening set was pretty damn good. They played all their hits and I was very happy to hear their rendition of "More Than This".

The New Cars jammed but the stage set was especially cool. Great concept.

Todd's voice blended well with the Cars classics, but once he started mixing in his solo stuff, well, I just found the flow kind of odd. Elliot's presence added a lot of the "missing" guitar textures (especially on ISTL), but I just think that other Todd songs would have mixed in better with the Cars stuff (as mentioned in other reviews), but.....who really cares once Todd starts wailing on "Black Maria"...and it is always great to see Todd and Kasim onstage together.

All in all it was a fun night and it was nice to see Todd in the Valley of the Sun again and I hope to hear some new solo stuff soon!

On a side note, RIP Bonzo, I love you and you will be truly missed!!!
