Leicester Gig 3rd June 2005

Having read previous criticisms of this tour I was waiting through the Joe Jackson set with some trepidation, as Joe J. seemed to be incapable of putting a musical foot wrong. I’ve witnessed Todd’s ability to play in tangles many times before but I had no reason to fear, as he was just as amazing as always.

The warmth and enjoyment he passed from stage to audience was astounding, and he really seemed to be enjoying himself. The Liars Tour was slick, but this delivery had more time to be personal, and was reminiscent of the Venue concert in London in 1980. (Anyone remember that?????)

Todd remarked that this was the second time he had played on these shores in a year. I hope that it is a pattern to be repeated.
