Redwood City Show

For what it is worth here is my two cents. I too have seen many a Todd performance. I have laughed and cried and been inspired all in one evening. I think we all have certain expectations before a show. There are certain tunes we are hoping for but with a catalog such as Todd's-good luck!

I was hoping for: the Todd signature dance, a longer set, more somber tunes at the piano, more banter.

What was delivered? A somewhat fractured performance. I am the first to admit if a relative of mine is not behaving nicely I do not make excuses but I still love them. The same with Todd. Especially when you are bring someone to a show to explain WHY you are so enthralled.

He seemed rushed in the beginning and the vocals weren't very clear. Todd has such a beautiful voice that it was a shame not to be able to hear the words.

Then, several times some sort of stop start which breaks the continuity. You are just getting into it and OOPS! No blame, just don't think he realizes how grating that becomes after 2-3 times.

It was the last night of the tour and I thought maybe they would all let loose a bit longer.

Joe Jackson was flawless as was Ethel. Really enjoyed it and of course, you never want it to end.
