eye-yi-yi.................................. this is just my personal take but i cant believe that all of a sudden now everybody seems to have lost their minds over this. todds commentary serves to let you know that he reads what you say (how many other 40 yr career artists you know does that), and that there is a shitload of stuff that goes on that we as audience members dont see/hear-such as monitors.. and other technical matters that affect an artist.

im sorry but i dont see one show as an invitation for us to complain about songlists or air past greivances about old time shows-we all have our fave tunes issue..guess what? we dont decide-he does.......i know of no artists who comprise their sets of requests..

people, the past, past, past is gone........yes even melbourne...

one last glance back-if you look at the shows in 02-03-todd HAS been consciously trying to expand the repetiore....for me the 03 shows were the best shows hed done for years..portal to portal singing (like alexandria or annapolis like eric said)......who among us will say that show last summer in CP sucked??? anyone?? hell no it was fucking brilliant..i think one of the problems is that a lot of fans have missed a big part of what todds trying to do with his voice..if you hear the delacorte and compare to even the brilliant shows of 03, theres a vocal progression concerning phrasing, spacing accents, different inflections..almost a cool breezy jazz deal going down..and if youve paid close attention for the last tours during even his standards, they have evolved vocally-he doesnt sing em the same..its been a hell of a fun ride for me..

i dont think someone who gives you a groundbreaking tour like liars and sang his ass off better than anytime in his career in his 50s last year deserves this kind of treatment.....some of you fuckers may have had it too damned good- who else in his mid 50s puts out progressive music like tr-??-im asking you to name even one-....you cant......he is unique... he is an artist who is a real person- and who i say IS the greatest singer/artist of our time...so please get off his back-even if you were there-hes given you plenty of joy in your life and continues to do so -and as far as i know, he doesnt owe anyone a thing except to give his best-which he does night after night, and yes, sometimes even on bad nights ....do i have to say that by his writing, you can tell he was upset by what happened far more than anyone of you???? ....i cant believe anyone would seriously think he doesnt care....i dont think there could be a greater misread of the situation..obviuosly, it was a bad night all at once on many fronts-but we dont need all this crap...and it is way more crap than anyone should have to deal with for one bad show. its not fucking target practice time... i advise anyone who is disturbed to please get over it real soon before he makes a fool of you in the coming weeks like hes done EVERY SINGLE TIME. dont say i didnt warn you.

i dont want to conjure up any painful memories but i would state that we have had a decent recording of the show for some time that was passed around on a shn file..and i dont get it..i heard it-the missed viking and a few flubs on HIM, but i didnt hear a shabby show that was amateur hour or whatever..i dont get it..i did hear todd become somewhat flustered at some flubs but big freakin deal...the show ended strong, i heard no boos, no attitude (other than some standard self deprication, no arrogance at all-even slightly)...so in the end, this was what a lot of us thought it was- an out of control rock rolling down a hillside-that some people used as an excuse to air years of frustation of the standards played, their own tunes they wanted to hear.........the thing that surpises me the most is the fact that todd justified it somewhat by chiming in to respond..he didnt need to..it wasnt that bad and actually the problems with the combo encores were all JOES mistakes on both piano and vocally........

if this indeed is a watermark where people point and say "that was the low point" or whatever..its a bunch of diddly horseshit...i have the show and there have been broadcasts where there were worse shows.to paint this show as a disaster is just untrue and at the end todd says sincerely "thank you so much for coming out to support us"....after hearing this show and the fact that it really isnt even what id call a bad show, i think a lot of us heads would be outraged that this caused such a pathetic chain reaction. personally, i dont want anyone to ever mention it to me again. for me itll be remembered when i discovered that mental illness can indeed be a viral..........
