Count Basie Theatre - Red Bank

Absolutely wonderful performances. "God Said" was the highlight (lyrically and visually stunning). Sound quality was shrill and harsh throughout, and my wife and were sitting nearly at the back of the theatre where the sound was supposedly better.

I think the problem is that Todd's music is usually pretty dense, with many layers of sound going on at once. For a soundman it's a short step to having it all turn into cacaphony.

I'm looking forward to getting the CD so I can hear these new tunes as intended.

The costumes were a hoot. Jesse was particularly ravishing as a Fu Manchu in pink sneakers.
