A Walk Down Abbey Road Review from 8/8/03 @ Atlantic City

Drove down from NY to catch both shows at the Hilton. Stayed there too (More on that after tomorrow's review). The band's frontmen were Joey Molland from Badfinger, Denny Laine from Wings/Moody Blues, Christopher Cross, Alan Parsons, and O.H.. As usual, Todd fell right into the lead/John Lennon persona and did a great job. After a short Beatles set, everyone came out one at a time and performed one Beatle tune and two solo songs. Both nights Todd chose Rain (Faithful cover), Open My Eyes, and a jazzy Hello its Me. I prefer Todd's cover of You've Got to Hide Your Love Away, like he did at the Westbury show.........

After the solo acts were done, they dedicated themselves to Beatles-only tunes. Todd's shining moment on "While My Guitar Gently Weeps' (which blew me away 2 years ago) was a disappointment. He screwed up the lyrics which took him off his game on the guitar solo as well. ..it happens.

The rest of the evenings songs were fine, albeit for some antics by Todd which seemed to upset the band to a small extent, but most noticeably Christopher Cross who at one point referred to O.H. as Too Odd. I'm hoping for a kick-ass "Guitar" tomorrow night..............
