Somerville Theater

The Somerville Theater is an old movie complex that seats approximately 900. It's accoustically perfect for a concert, although the seats are very small. The joint was packed for Todd's show. Unlike other reviewer's complaints about talkative patrons throughout the show, this crowd was silent during the songs & enthusiastic at their conclusions (Bostonians come to listen!). The set list was similar to earlier reviewed performances and Todd played superbly, with the usual handful of flubs sprinkled in. The thing that surfaced was O.H.'s often mentioned sense of humor. He was in a great mood and often hilarious. He actually handed one injured guitar to an audience member for re-stringing purposes! The crowd ate it up. I attended a similar show a couple of years ago at International Place in Boston. Todd, nothing personal, but it's time to mix things up. I'd love to see him tour with a band and add a few/drop a few tunes. Regardless, this guy is a true showman & ultimate professional. How he's not included in the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame is a joke; how he's not a national treasure is the nation's loss & how he continues to strive n' thrive (at 55!) is amazing. If he comes to your area, you'd be wise to catch this show. You'll leave completely satisfied and a little sore from all the laughter.
