It is very hard to imagine that there has ever been a better Todd Rundgren show than last night's. There were almost no mistakes on the guitar or on the piano, he was in a very upbeat mood all evening, his voice was clear and powerful, and he was very generous with his time and music. Jesse was a pleasant surprise, and his playing on A Dream Goes On Forever really gave that toon (one of my faves) a nice twist, besides enabling TR to amble off the stage waving while the refrain died out. I had shared some of the reviews of earlier shows with our friends, several of whom had seen him dozens of times, and they were a little wary about this tour. All of us were shocked by how professional and "together" he seemed. Beloved Infidel, Compassion, Hello It's Me, Wouldn't Have Made Any Difference, and Love of the Common Man were all stellar. Everything else was only fantastic. Come back soon, Todd!
