Indy Ribfest 9/1/02

Review by Skibone (Switch to

As he noted in his opening comment...in his best Harvey Fierstein impersonation...."the night was sultry". With 10,000 of my closest friends in somewhat sweltering heat, Todd proved once again he's a wizard and a true star! The set was a good mix of new and old stuff as follows:
Love of the Common Man
Cliche
Hit Me Like a Train
I'm Looking At You But I'm Talking To Myself
Buffalo Grass
Parallel Lines
Hello It's Me
Love Is The Answer
Rock Love
Unfortunately, Kirk (see other review) left too soon as Todd joined Hall & Oates on stage and helped them play through their encore. Some may not care, but here's H&O setlist:
Adult Education
Out of Touch
Say It Isn't So
Do It For Love (new song, Daryl noted this is what their philosophy is all about)
She's Gone
Phunk Shui (Oates solo song...not positive on the title, sorry)
One On One
Sara Smile
Can't Go For That
Maneater

encore: (with TR) Rich Girl (TR lead vocal) I Saw The Light (DH lead vocal) Kiss On My List Hot Fun In The Summertime

This was the last show on the tour....you could hear Todd fans yelling 'play all night' hoping for an exclusive extra that they hadn't performed elsewhere on tour to no avail. But the last song really summed up the entire evening: we had fun, it was hot and it was definitely summertime. Not a bad evening for free! Would have liked to hear Our Hero play all night....but it was good to see him in a positive, upbeat mood; what a great way to end the summer. take a look at some of my pictures.

in todd we trust; see ya at the next show - sayonara!
