AWDAR - Mohegan Sun Casino, CT

I traveled 4 hours and one hour of it was sitting in rush hour traffic on I-95 but it was well worth it! The trick about getting good seats to see the free show at the Wolf's Den (a pit smack in the middle of the enormous Mohegan Sun Casino) is to get in line early and get your table reserved. Due to the traffic, I arrived 1/2 hour prior to the show and ended up with seats off to the side. A great show nonetheless! The band played straight for and hour and 1/2 (cutting 1/2 hour out of the original show) and then all were told to leave because the place wants everyone on the floor gambling! I was also able to get a few pics taken. I caught the first tour last year and the absence of Ann Wilson and David Peck's vocals was noticeably missed, as well as John Entwistle's bass. Jack Bruce did a fine job however and brought the house down with Sunshine Of Your Love. I think he'd do well in Vegas with that voice! Mark Farner did a great rendition of I'm Your Captain and his red jump suit with glitter was quite amusing. Todd of course stole the show with a great new arrangement of Hello It's Me and climbed up on top of some of the fake rock structures during the Carry That Weight/The End medley. Christopher Cross was great, especially his vocals on the Beatles tunes. Godfrey Townsend is one of the backbones to the AWDAR tours and his leads are amongst the finest played!
