The San Francisco Show

I have to say that Todd was in rare form. He sure doesn't show his age, but neither do many of his hard core fans. The concert was fun, exciting and nostalgic. Looking at the faces in the crowd you could tell that Todd and Kasim made it quite an enjoyable evening.

First off, I'm prejudice. I've been a very, very big fan of Mr. Rundgren's for 28 years when a college friend introduced me to the Todd magic back at Ohio University. Ever since then I have worshipped at the throne and converted many to his musical crusade.

This show was a pleasure from the beginning to the end. Everyone who knows Todd knows that you have to put up with a few musical transgressions. I've never cared for much of the rap stuff and fortunately he kept that to a minimum. His rendition of "Lowest Common Denominator" and "Couldn't I Just Tell You" were worth the price of admission. I had to smile broadly when I looked around and everyone was mouthing the words to "Couldn't I Just Tell You". This was a Todd crowd and we all felt rewarded at that moment.

What really impressed me was Todd and Kasim's enthusiasm, energy and pure enjoyment playing these classic hits. It was pure fun. Todd's guitar work was impressive and as excellent as I've ever heard him play. I don't know how many times I've seen him in concert, but this is as good as it gets. The real fantasy would be to put together a personal play list for Todd. So many of his songs have deep personal meaning that I always leave wishing he had played a few more of my favorites. Next tour I want to hear "Just One Victory" the greatest rock anthem of all time. Do you hear that Todd...it was always the last song...it is certainly the greatest. Anyway, I know he'll always play what he wants and I have to admit I'm happy for that. A Todd concert is one of the great joys in life. This concert tour should not be missed!!
