My name is Bob Malachowski. I would like to comment on Ringo's 2/12/99 concert at the Taj. I was fortunate enough to be at the 2/12 and 2/13 shows, but since people have already reviewed the 2/13 show, allow me a few thoughts on the 2/12 show.

Being the opening night of the tour, I was not sure what to expect. I have a friend who is a huge Todd fan, but I wasn't sure how well he would be on the guitar by himself. Well, he totally won me over this night!!! The band sounded so tight for being an opening night, and the funny thing is that the only real noticeable flub from Todd came during the solo for I Saw the Light. It's kind of ironic Todd flubbed a few notes of the solo in his own song, yet played blazing Cream riffs to near perfection throughout the night. Also, I must admit that I had not seen Todd recently until the Friday night All-Starr show. He is sporting blonde hair on top of his head with the rest being black. It was this characteristic that enabled me to notice Todd in the mall on the boardwalk ordering a hotdog in the food court!!! My girlfriend and I approached him, and she asked if he was indeed Todd Rundgren. He said yes, and was very nice to us, considering we caught him as he was about to get something to eat. The worker at the food place was giving Todd a hard time about a $20 bill being too large for him to break. My girlfriend made change for the clerk, so I now am the proud owner of a Todd Rundgren $20 bill. Also Todd was kind enough to sign 2 autographs, one for me and one for my friend (the big fan) that I mentioned earlier.

All in all, after seeing him carry 2 concerts with so much talent around him and my very pleasant personal encounter with him, I just wanted to say what a new found admiration and respect I have for the man. I just wanted to share this with you Thanks.
